A Pinwheel for Peace ~ It’s a Choice

I made this Pinwheel Power Symbol for Peace in honor of International Peace Day.

The pinwheel is a universal symbol for change, transformation and transition.

As the wind turns its blades, we’re reminded of unseen energies hard at work. When messages are attached to the blades of the pinwheel, the wind sends them into the world with each turn of the pinwheel.

Words like responsibility, home, children, environment, protection and images of children, animals, and homes characterize its hope. The chrysalis and the butterfly–symbols of transformation–are also included with the universal peace sign.  

This pinwheel reflects on the idea that in order for world peace to occur, we must each focus as individuals on our desire for inner peace and the absence of conflict within.

If we want peace, we must choose it over conflict.
