Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Many of us are afraid of the dark. Yet, it is in the dark that we will find we are about to go somewhere new, about to learn, see, and discover something of tremendous value. Clarity comes from the darkness bringing something new.
At times it seems as if the dark is unrelenting, too much, too strong, that we cannot handle what we must see or experience. But the dark has a way of making you see. It’s potency can shatter you but that’s how you rebuild. The dark has a way of saying “I see you cry. And you will cry yet again. And some more.” Yet it brings us enormous transformation, palpable gifts — depth, character, multi-dimensionality, strength, perspective — and so much more. You just can’t be afraid of all that.

OMG! Two days ago I had this dream. Dream: I was walking into my kitchen where there is a nightlight. And from my garden window I can always see the street lamp from the next street over. As I walked toward the sink to get a glass of water, all the lights went out!! I stood there in total darkness. I waited for lighting or thunder thinking maybe there was a storm. There was no storm. I wondered why this was happening and why I was feeling so alone. I finally asked, Why was this happening? Then I heard this voice that seemed so audible say, I have placed you in darkness that you may see what greatness I have in store for you! And then I saw the flicker of three little lights!!! Very, very, very, very dim. And I heard the voice again, I am allowing just enough light for you to see the shadow of what was so you then can see for yourself what really is now. Only when you see where you are and not where you were will you trust me to move forward. I am with you in the light and I am with you in the dark. You trust what you can see, now I want you to trust what you can not see. Follow your heart, for I am there.
