Take time to “see” the flowers

“Nobody sees a flower really; it is so small. We haven’t time, and to see takes time – like to have a friend takes time.”
~~~ Georgia O’Keeffe
You may wonder why I post lots of pictures of flowers — they are all from my own garden or my mom’s — who is 91. I feel in many ways just like the quote by Georgia O’Keeffe.  We rush by flowers not really stopping to take a close look at them — their beauty, form, shape, color, textures. Like Georgia said “to see a flower takes time — like to have a friend takes time…”
Do you feel like no one or very few want to take the time to truly get to know you? I often feel that way. Our busy culture and lifestyles make forming and maintaining friendship so difficult. So I make it a point to spend a few minutes each day to “see” flowers — both those that grow in my garden and those rare people who reside in my heart.
Take time to see.
